How to delete your VanTele account and data
You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data linked to it at any time, in either of these ways:
- In the app / website: Profile → Settings → Delete my account, and confirm. (If this control is not yet available in your app version, use the email method below.)
- By email: send a request from your registered email or phone to privacy@vantele.com.na with the subject "Delete my account".
We may ask you to confirm your identity (for example, a code sent to your registered phone) so that no one else can delete your account.
What gets deleted
When we process your request we delete or permanently anonymise your personal data, including:
- Your name, phone number, email, location and delivery addresses
- Your profile and any seller verification documents
- Your saved items, cart, messages and reviews (reviews may be anonymised rather than removed, to keep ratings honest for other buyers)
What we may keep, and why
By law and for legitimate business reasons we may retain limited records even after deletion:
- Completed transaction and payment records — required for tax, accounting and dispute/fraud purposes for the period required by Namibian law.
- Records we are legally obliged to keep, kept only as long as required.
These are minimised and access-restricted, and are not used for any other purpose.
How long it takes
We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your request and will tell you when it's done.
